ABOUT NYS ATSA

Who We Are

The New York State Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abusers (NYS ATSA) is the state chapter of ATSA National—part of an international, multi-disciplinary network dedicated to preventing sexual abuse and building safer communities.

For 29 years, NYS ATSA has united treatment providers, researchers, educators, probation and parole staff, victim advocates, and other professionals committed to evidence-based practice, risk reduction, and community safety.

Our Work

Advancing Justice & Community Safety

We champion policies and practices that support survivors, promote accountability, and strengthen community supervision and treatment systems.

Evidence-Based Practice

Grounded in research, our work emphasizes effective assessment, treatment, risk management, and collaborative community strategies.

Adapting to Change

During the pandemic, NYS ATSA rapidly transitioned to virtual platforms—pioneering statewide Zoom trainings and an online conference. Today, we blend in-person and virtual learning to reach professionals across the state.
