Kim Reese

Kim Reese is a Probation Officer for the Erie County Department of Probation in Buffalo, New York. She has been a supervising officer in a specialized unit for adult sex offenders for seven years. Officer Reese joined the Department in 2003 after having worked as the Assistant Director of Children with Special Needs for over a decade at the Erie County Department of Health. Her experiences led her to represent the Probation Department on various county-wide committees and workgroups. Officer Reese represented the Probation Department on the CSOM supported Erie County Sex Offender Court Steering Committee. She also served as Co-Chair of the CSOM Comprehensive Assessment Protocol (CAP) Needs Assessment for Erie County. Officer Reese has facilitated protocols and policies to assist the Erie County Sex Offender Court in the management of community supervision. A strong supporter of the containment approach, she has actively promoted enhanced probation supervision through improved coordination among the specialized treatment providers, polygraph examiners, victim advocates and law enforcement.
